Give It a Rest
Marni Turkel, Stony Point Ceramic Design
Many plants receive a dry rest period in their native habitat and this talk explores some of the factors involved. Learn a bit about weather patterns and the “make it or break it” effect a dry rest period can have on growth and flowering of particular species. You’ll see some plants that many people find hard to bloom and find out how to get a great blooming by giving them what they need.

Today’s Mini and Compact Cattleyas
Fred Clarke, Sunset Valley Orchids
Today mini and compact growing Cattleyas come in many colors and shapes. Learn about the small growing Cattleya species, the important breeding plants and what hybrids are available for the orchid enthusiast. In conclusion Fred will cover the “best practices” for growing these little gems.

Join your fellow Mid-Americans to experience world-class cuisine and incomparable service, brought to you by the rising stars of the culinary industry. The award-winning Winston’s Restaurant at Sullivan University is one of the foremost culinary training restaurants in the country. It’s the final destination for culinary students before stepping out as professional chefs. Transportation will be provided between Fern Valley Hotel and Conference Center and Winston’s Restaurant.
